The Eastbourne Academy opened in September 2010 with the specialism of Science and Digital Technologies. It has achieved exceptionally high value added scores in recent years, achieving the SSAT Educational Outcomes Award in 2014 for top 20% of progress nationally and has a current rating of Good in every area from Ofsted. Our rebuilding programme was completed in 2013 -14 and we operate a one to one tablet computer scheme for students and staff. Science is the largest department in the school and following recent expansion in curriculum time and some internal promotion, we are now looking to appoint a Science teacher to join an exceptionally friendly and supportive body of staff. This post would suit an experienced or newly qualified teacher.

We are looking for candidates who:

  • Are passionate about teaching Science.
  • Can provide outstanding quality learning and teaching in the Science department, modelling excellence in the classroom.
  • Are dynamic, inspirational and impart a joy for learning.
  • Are committed to all learners whatever their background.
  • Can make a positive contribution to the Science department and its students.

We strongly recommend all interested candidates come and visit The Academy and meet our students and staff. Visits can be arranged at any time by contacting Mrs Mel Hopkins, the Principal’s P.A., by telephone (01323 514906) to arrange an interview and tour of the school this week.
