About the role: Stationers' Crown Woods Academy are seeking to appoint a motivated Teacher of Science who will join and strengthen the Department.  Whilst this role is suitable for Teachers ranging from their NQT year to many years experience in the profession, we are seeking to appoint individuals who can build rapport with our students and engage them in the subject.  We are fortunate to have the flexibility to offer responsibility for teaching and learning to the right candidate which will be offered as a TLR incentive based on your experience, for example to take on responsibility for Key Stage 5 Science.  This can be discussed at interview to determine what works for the individual and the Academy.

Working at Stationers' Crown Woods Academy:  The Stationers’ Crown Woods Academy joined our Trust in 2014.  The campus incorporates nine buildings which include four home schools each serving 450 pupils and students, a Design, Technology and Creative and Performing Arts School, a Sport & Community Education Centre and an Inclusions Hub.  Stationers’ Crown Woods Academy is delighted be part of the Leigh Academies Trust who, with the Stationers’ Company and Ravensbourne, will enable the new Stationers’ Crown Woods Academy to enhance our provision and develop a Digital Curriculum fit for the future.

Our objective is to be a flagship Academy where every pupil not only achieves their full potential but also feels an integral part of the organisation. An Academy where no child feels lost and no child is left behind. An Academy where the bonds between parent, teacher and child are so secure that failure is not an option. The unique community that we have built ensures that young people achieve their ambition in a caring environment where they are the center of all that we do.

What are we looking for in you? To be successful you need to be a qualified teacher who is passionate and knowledgeable about your subject and possesses the ability to teach consistently at an outstanding level. Whether you are at the start of your career or an expert teacher we focus on what attributes you will bring to the academy and most importantly what impact you will have on our students. As a Trust we feel it is important to hire for the right attitude which is why we look for teachers that are enthusiastic, focused and resilient to the day to day pressures that teaching brings. The day to day responsibilities of the role are in line with the National Teaching Standards.

Being part of Leigh Academies Trust:  Leigh Academies Trust have very recently been identified as 1 of 7 strong performing trusts when compared to others on a national scale. The criteria in which we were recognised to be so successful are due to our recruitment and retention of talented individuals, our commitment to providing high quality education for our pupils and our investment in professional development. This praise comes from a Chief Inspector at Ofsted who recently visited the Trust in person and reiterates the success we have experienced to date and also the positive journey in which we continue to embark on.

As part of Leigh Academies Trust you will have the opportunity to collaborate with your peers and share best practice at Academy level and across the whole Trust.  This is an important part of our vision as we know through experience that we perform better when we work together.  You will also be expected to undertake regular self-development to continue your professional development and hopefully progress further within the organisation.

As part of the 'cluster' structure, all of our academies are grouped together in key geographical area to enable them to be able to support each other and share resources.  It also offers staff access to career opportunities across the Trust allowing them to progress their career without switching employers.   For more information on working for the Trust please visit our careers pages.

Diversity at our core:  As a Trust, we are passionate about diversity and recognise that as individuals we all bring something unique to the role regardless of age, gender, race, beliefs or disabilities which is why we treat all of our people equally, without compromise.

The academy is committed to safeguarding children and successful candidates will be subject to an Enhanced DBS check.  Our commitment to safeguarding is underpinned by robust processes and checks which are in place across the Trust.
