Everyone contributes actively to the work of the Department as a whole, participating in curriculum development and helping with extra-curricular activities such as outside visits or Science Club and Science Week. Members of the Science staff are also involved in a wide range of other opportunities and activities that take place in this thriving College.
As a Teaching School, there are frequent and varied opportunities for Continuing Professional Learning. In addition to the CPL provided in College, members of the Science team regularly attend an impressive variety of external courses and have had an excellent record of career progression over the years. We have strong links with the Institute of Physics, with whom we are currently involved in a gender balance study. We have hosted the IoP South West CPL Conference for the last three years.

Ivybridge Community College is a publicly funded non-fee paying mixed comprehensive secondary school for children in Ivybridge and surrounding area.
