Job overview

This is an excellent opportunity for an inspirational and forward thinking qualified teacher to join our thriving Science department.

At Homewood School, we encourage the use of a range of innovative teaching techniques and the successful candidate will join a collaborative and committed staff team who share a vision to succeed. In our modern facilities, our large science department teaches a variety of subjects and qualifications to develop our students up to Key Stage 5. Through a shared focus on teaching and learning, you will be a team player with the right attributes and focus for the day to day pressures that teaching brings.

Whether you are at the start of your career or an experienced teacher you will bring your enthusiasm for your subject and your ability to inspire and transform the lives of young people.  Our additional facilities are excellent; with a School Farm to promote conservation work, green issues, environmental science and curriculum enrichment through forensic sciences and dissection.  The department also has a rich programme of trips, visits and extra-curricular activities.

It’s a competitive market out there and we want to know what it is that makes you the one for us. Detail your successes in your completed application form and supporting letter and get us excited about you!

With our ethos of ‘Learning, Respect and Belonging’, we have high aspirations for everyone and expect everyone to contribute positively to the school by working hard and participating in school activities. We treat everyone as an individual and value personal strengths and qualities. Homewood School is part of Tenterden Schools’ Trust, working in collaboration with local primary schools serving the beautiful Wealden town of Tenterden and the surrounding villages. All teaching staff are provided with an IT device and there is also a nursery based on the school site which offers discounts to Homewood Staff.

We are not accepting applications from employment agencies for this position but would be delighted to receive a direct application.

Closing date: 22nd February 2020, however early applications are encouraged as we review applications as we receive them.

We are an equal opportunities employer and welcome applications from all members of the community. Tenterden Schools Trust is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all employees to share this commitment. The successful candidate will be asked to apply for an Enhanced DBS Disclosure.
