Cornwallis Academy is a ‘Good’ school on the outskirts of Loose, Maidstone with over 1300 students on roll aged 11 to 18. Cornwallis’ aim is to provide all students with the best educational provision.

Job Description

You will be joining a well-resourced and popular department with a relentless focus on raising achievement. At present the Department teaches a full suite of Science subjects. At Key Stage 4, AQA Triple Science is taught alongside AQA Trilogy combined science. At Key Stage 3 we offer a bespoke curriculum based on the AQA KS3 Science syllabus. At key stage 5 we offer A-levels in Biology, Chemistry and Physics alongside a Level 3 BTEC Extended Certificate in Applied Science. You will be supported within the department by the Director of Science, Key Stage leads for KS3, 4 and 5 as well as two highly experienced Lead Practitioners of Science.


We are offering a £3,000 Golden Hello for this role, which will be paid as a one-off lump sum to the successful candidate upon employment commencing with Future Schools Trust. 


Cornwallis Academy are proud to be one of the select few schools in the local area eligible for the government’s Levelling Up Premium Payments scheme for teachers. This incredible opportunity allows successful, eligible candidates, specialising in Mathematics, Chemistry, Physics and Computing to claim a premium payment up to the value of £1500 for each of the academic years they work 2023 to 2024, 2024 to 2025 and 2025 to 2026.
