TEACHER OF Science - MPS/UPS
Southfield School is an excellent girls’ school with a vibrant mixed Sixth Form. The school has a key focus on staff wellbeing and has numerous initiatives in place to support this. They include time for planning off-site, fitness clubs, yoga sessions and many more. These initiatives are driven by a wellbeing group made up of staff members of varied experience.
Our Progress 8 score of 0.71 places us as the best performing school in Northamptonshire, and in the top 5% in the country. The Science Department year on year achieves outstanding results, well above the national average, and made a large contribution to the school’s success.
A Level subjects in Science are very popular with consistently high numbers of students choosing to take all 3 sciences. The majority of our Sixth Form secure places at Russell Group Universities.
From our recent Ofsted, inspectors were impressed by our students. They “demonstrate very positive attitudes towards their learning” and are “proud of their school and take pride in their work”. “Poor behaviour across the school is rare”. We would recommend that you come and visit us during a working day and we are confident that you would be impressed.
We are seeking to appoint an inspirational, highly motivated and innovative science teacher. Suitiable candidate may be a specialist in one of the 3 areas but will need to be capable of teaching all sciences to GCSE level. Opportunities exist for A Level teaching for the right candidate. The Science Department is in a very fortunate position with stable staffing and this opportunity has arisen due to increased curriculum time in Science and internal promotions.
The post is suitable for a newly qualified or experienced teacher.
