King Edward VI School Lichfield is seeking an enthusiastic and talented Science teacher; a specialism in Physics or Chemistry would be an advantage but is not essential. In 2018, 86% of Year 11 students achieved at least two GCSE science grades at 9-4 and over half of the cohort took the Triple Science course. Across Triple Science, over a third of students achieve grades 9-7; you will be joining a high-performing department with a passion for their subject.
As a teacher, you will teach Science across the age and ability range and specialise at Key Stage 4 and 5. Science is popular and successful from Key Stage 3 through to our thriving, successful Sixth Form. We have a strong uptake for A-level, with at least two groups for all three sciences in both Year 12 and 13.
We are looking for a teacher with infectious enthusiasm, excellent communication skills alongside the ability to develop and maintain positive relationships with students, colleagues and parents. We expect the successful candidate to work as part of a team and be willing to participate in all aspects of school life. The post is suitable for a current classroom teacher or for a Newly Qualified Teacher. A part-time appointment would be considered for a suitable candidate.
