Are you passionate about teaching Science?  We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic, qualified and highly motivated teacher. You will need to teach Biology up to A-Level, and all three sciences up to GCSE level.

This is an exciting opportunity for an outstanding candidate who will inspire the students in this key academic subject area.

 

The successful candidate will:

  • Be an excellent teacher/practitioner who thinks creatively and has the drive to improve standards in the department
  • Be able to teach Biology up to A-Level and to teach all three Sciences up to GCSE level
  • Set high expectations which inspire, motivate and challenge pupils
  • Be a highly committed team player, with a willingness to take an active part in the school’s pastoral care and co-curricular Floreat programme

Our school provides education for boys and girls from age three to eighteen.

Academics

In Summer 2021, the School was proud that at GCSE all subject areas achieved a series of excellent results. 14 subjects achieved 100% pass rate. In English and Mathematics, over 53% of grades were awarded the top bracket of 7, 8 and 9. Just as impressively, the value added scores were 29% higher than predicted when those students joined the School in 2016.

The 6th Form students achieved equally impressive results in their A Level and BTEC results. 78% of grades awarded were A* to B, with just over 50% of all grades awarded at A*/A. Almost a third of all our A Level students secured a clean sweep of three A*/A.

At Farringtons, all pupils are helped to achieve the best academic results they can. This is true in the Junior and Senior School where year on year our pupils surpass themselves by achieving results significantly higher than the national average. This is accomplished by dedicated teachers with supportive parents encouraging every pupil to be the best they can be.
