Job overview

This post is suitable for a NQT or an experienced teacher

We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic, dynamic and motivational individual to teach Science.

Whether you are an established teacher or a NQT wishing to start your teaching career, if you are ambitious, have a passion for Science and are able to deliver excellent lessons that are exciting, engaging and inclusive then we wish to hear from you.

Science at Cox Green School is a thriving and highly successful department. Recent exam results have outperformed national averages in both single and combined sciences and at A Level. Our teachers work creatively and collaboratively and have expertise in all the 3 disciplines. We draw on this expertise to design engaging schemes of work. We offer a wide variety of extra-curricular trips, revision workshops and focussed activities, to inspire our students. The focus of the department is to ensure every child leaves the school with a passion for the subject as well as achieving an excellent qualification.

Cox Green is a well-established co-educational Academy school, situated in the heart of the community of Cox Green, Maidenhead. We have been graded “good” by Ofsted and are oversubscribed year on year; testimony to the quality of teaching and learning we provide. As one of the top performing schools in the area we take pride in getting the most out of each of our students. Last year 76% of our GCSE students achieved grades 4+ in English and 72% in Maths. Visitors comment on the excellent relationships that exist and that student behaviour is very good.

Our students thrive in an environment committed to achievement, supported by our team of excellent teachers and pastoral staff. Students enjoy a varied range of extra-curricular activities including Sport, Music, Drama, Languages and trips.

We have a brand new building, completed August 2018, which includes 8 new classrooms and a large cafeteria/function room. Cox Green School also takes a leading role in the Teach Maidenhead programme, the region's teacher training provider.
