Job overview

September 2023 Start - Suitable for ECT

We are looking to recruit an exceptional Science teacher to achieve our vision and work together to create a genuinely exceptional school.

We are looking for someone with sky-high expectations of what all children can achieve, regardless of barriers; someone who believes, as we do, that all children are entitled to access the full richness of a broad and academic curriculum and will thrive if given appropriate support to access and succeed in that curriculum.

We are excited to introduce you to our Science department at Whitelands Academy. This department is staffed by three very experienced Science teachers and one expert technician with a wealth of practical experience from research laboratories.

Our department consists of five spacious, modern laboratories, filled with a wide range of new equipment. Students receive seven hours of Science education per fortnight and are offered a range of extra-curricular science clubs after school.

We are in an exciting phase of our development where we are currently writing our KS4 curriculum. We believe that our curriculum should create students who have a deep understanding of all the skills necessary to enter the scientific world and so believe that the understanding and ability to practically research are equally as crucial as understanding and remembering the scientific knowledge. If you can enthuse students about the world of Science and are passionate about developing the best possible education for students, then please do apply!
