The Science Department at the Stanground Academy offers pupils a range of subjects to help prepare them for life after education. Teachers of any specialism are encouraged to apply.
We want determined and enthusiastic Teachers who can:
- engage and enthuse our learners through a commitment to outstanding teaching and learning;
- contribute to the further development of a strong and forward looking team;
- be innovative in their techniques to motivate and inspire young people;
- build positive relationships with staff, pupils and parents alike.
The Stanground Academy, part of the Greenwood Academies Trust (GAT), is situated in Peterborough, one of the UK’s fastest growing cities, and is transforming the life chances of its pupils by ensuring that every child can succeed, despite the challenges they may face.
The academy is led by the Principal, James Scarrott, who ensures that staff are highly motivated and committed to achieving the highest standards. The £23 million state-of-the-art building boasts facilities which are arguably some of the best in the country including fully-equipped specialist rooms for science, technology, art and computing.
You can be assured that you will be joining a successful Multi-Academy Trust that has a great track record in helping children to succeed. The Trust is dedicated to valuing and developing the workforce, through ensuring a fair workload and offering access to bespoke CPD from the Learning Alliance to enhance professional growth.
For NQTs looking to join the Trust you can be assured that we will invest in developing your practice to ensure you succeed. All NQTs are required to attend the NQT development programme where you will be taken through a range of core areas of professional development including induction and training days where all the NQTs from the Trust are brought together. This training doesn’t stop at NQTs as the Learning Alliance also offers programmes for Teachers looking to develop techniques and strategies to improve classroom practice.
