TEACHER OF SCIENCE(PHYSICS)
Required after Easter or September 2021
The Norton Knatchbull School is looking for a full time Teacher of Science (Physics). The role will involve teaching a significant amount of A level classes. We welcome applicants from either selective or wide ability settings, who are keen to work with high achieving and motivated students in a strong and growing department, with improving results and growing numbers of students studying Physics at A Level in recent years.
At Norton Knatchbull School an average of 80-85% of students study the three Sciences separately at GCSE and numbers taking A Level science are strong and growing, with significant numbers of students pursuing Science related study at degree level. Student engagement and interest across all year groups is positive and beyond the classroom students engage in a wide range of extra-curricular activities in Science and STEM activities. The Science Department is well equipped with 10 laboratories, with two additional new laboratories being constructed as part of our new Digital Learning Centre, due to open in September 2021.
The successful applicant will be joining a vibrant, supportive and cohesive department team. They will be expected to have the ability to teach all three sciences up to GCSE and Physics at A Level. Experienced colleagues will be expected to be demonstrate a proven track record of examination success –and in the case of an NQT evidence of the potential to do so. The position arises through the promotion of a colleague who trained and embarked on their teaching career at NKS. We are looking for an excellent classroom practitioner who can inspire both colleagues and students and lead by example. The post is suitable for an NQT or equally a more experienced colleague looking for a new challenge.

Deadline for applications: Midday Monday 8th March 2021. We reserve the right to interview prior to this date depending on applications received. The selection process will involve a teaching activity with students, an opportunity to meet with colleagues in the Department and a panel interview. Depending on Government guidance in relation to Covid-19 this may be carried out virtually.
