MPS/UPS + TLR for the right candidate
Full time/ Part time
Appointment for April 2020 or September 2020
Sharnbrook Academy is located in attractive rural surroundings and provides excellent opportunities for young people. Our students engage fantastically in lessons, and their behaviour for learning is exemplary and reflected in their achievements. Our education teams are committed, motivated and welcoming, and proud to be part of a consistently high achieving school that fully supports its staff.
In addition, Sharnbrook Academy is part of the very successful Sharnbrook Academy Federation (SAF). This is a multi-academy trust made up of five excellent member academies, which has a commitment to excellence in education and puts student progress at the heart of all it does. SAF has an outstanding reputation and provides a strong support network and a variety of opportunities for staff in each of its academies.
This is an excellent opportunity to work within our state of the art science centre, comprising 17 laboratories, a seminar room and large activity area. Our team includes 5 experienced science technicians, who allow for well organised and thoroughly resourced practical activities during lessons. Working together, we aim to ensure that every pupil is inspired and supported to achieve their personal best and are looking for colleagues who share this sense of purpose.
Our continued success at GCSE results in a large number of students opting to study sciences at A Level, providing many opportunities for the right candidate to teach across the full age range. As part of the team, it is important that you are able to deliver enjoyable but challenging lessons that communicate your own enjoyment of your subject and in doing so promote a genuine passion for science and its place in today’s world. You will be part of a very successful, mutually supportive and forward-thinking department, as well as providing pastoral support to students through our vertical tutoring system.
We can offer:
· the opportunity to join a highly successful school and multi-academy trust;
· a stimulating and creative working environment where extracurricular activities flourish;
· an exceptional CPD provision tailored to your needs, including a well-developed NQT programme, where applicable;
· career/secondment opportunities within our MAT schools;
· a subsidised on-site gym membership.
We are able to offer some degree of flexibility in this post and therefore welcome applications from those able to work part-time.
We encourage enthusiastic and motivational candidates who share a genuine passion to the post to apply.
