We are determined to improve student outcomes and to embed a love of independent scientific enquiry within all our young people. Caterham High School is a community school at the heart of the local neighbourhood. We provide a haven in which our children feel safe, valued and happy. Our school serves a richly diverse area of East London, with many ethnic groups and languages represented. Each child is important and we do our utmost to ensure that each student is given every opportunity to learn and succeed. Our students are well behaved, polite and friendly. We enjoy very good relationships between students and staff.

We provide a rich and diverse curriculum at KS3, with students making choices from a wide range of options at KS4. We have recently improved our KS5 curriculum offer. There are good opportunities for staff to teach in all three key stages. 

Caterham High School is a friendly, welcoming and dynamic environment for staff. We have good facilities for all subjects. Staff have free access to our gym, use of our swimming pool and free parking.

Caterham High has been at the heart of the local community for over 60 years providing an excellent education for all young people that join our thriving institution. We are ambitious for our students, setting high aspirations in all that they do. Our home-school partnerships are very strong.  For students to maximise their potential, it is vital that parents and carers and the school work productively together. We use regular monitoring, target setting and dialogue with students and parents and carers to ensure students make good progress. There are many opportunities, formal and informal, for dialogue, which we strongly welcome.

We have an expanding and responsive curriculum aimed at enhancing choice and opportunity for students as they progress through the school from Year 7 to Year 13.  Our teaching is both innovative and challenging both in content and delivery, and ICT is used throughout the school to bring the curriculum to life and to stimulate and engage students in their learning. We make good use of our facilities (including the astro-turf pitch, pool, fitness suite and dance studio) and ensure that every child can be involved in the enrichment opportunities on offer.
