Minerva Learning Trust is an expanding Sheffield based multi-academy Trust with a vision of providing outstanding education for all the students within our schools. Ecclesfield school joined the Trust in December 2017 and, as a sponsored academy, is developing this partnership and making rapid improvements for our students and community.
We are seeking to appoint a teacher of Science, the successful candidate will:
• have the ability to teach Science across KS3 and KS4
• be committed to student progress
• be passionate about teaching and learning
• have the ability to inspire young learners with innovation, challenge and engagement.

Located in Sheffield, South Yorkshire, Ecclesfield School is a larger-than-average secondary school, educating around 1,700 pupils aged 11-16 in a co-educational setting. Originally founded as a grammar school in 1931, the school converted to academy status in 2014.
Ecclesfield School has seen extensive redevelopment and modernisation over the years, with a series of new buildings completed in the early 2000s. The school currently hosts a specialist unit for hearing-impaired children in the local area.

“The proportion of students achieving five GCSE passes at grades A* to C, including English and mathematics, has risen strongly over recent years, as a result of senior leaders’ relentless focus on raising attainment. In 2013, an above average proportion of students achieved the English Baccalaureate. Students’ achievement on a range of BTEC courses is also good.”
