The successful candidate will have a high standard of teaching and learning and have the ability to think creatively and strategically. They will be responsible for delivering Science across all Key Stages.
Excellent curriculum knowledge is essential and the ability to develop the existing GCSE and A Level specification will be vital. The successful candidate will be expected to teach Science to GCSE and another Science to A Level. They must possess the ability to enthuse and inspire students and staff by sharing their passion for the Sciences. The ability to teach Physics would be an advantage but not essential.

The Science department consists of a team of seven experienced teaching staff, including the successful applicant, and three technicians. There are currently seven dedicated laboratories but the Priority Schools Building Programme is due to bring us brand new laboratories in the next couple of years. In addition to the Head of Department we also have a Key Stage 4 & 5 Coordinator for Science who works alongside other subject Coordinators to provide a College-wide focus on this important phase of learning and development.
This post is a 0.8FTE temporary post for an experienced Teacher of Science or a 1.0FTE post for a NQT.
