The Role

We are looking for an experienced and passionate Teacher of Science (Chemistry or Physics) to join the Secondary Team, who has a strong understanding of British education, as well as the creativity, motivation, communication skills and adaptability to make a significant impact in our students’ varying learning and social needs. The candidate should be able to teach Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 IGCSE.

The successful candidates will ensure they are continually striving to develop the quality of pupils so they can achieve their best by:

  • Planning effective teaching programmes with provide exemplary learning opportunities within and beyond the classroom
  • Positively targeting and supporting individual learning needs
  • Making effective use of formative and summative assessment to plan challenging learning opportunities for all pupils
  • Using modern technology to enhance learning opportunities

The Person
As a qualified teacher with relevant teaching experience, we are looking for someone who:

  • Has detailed knowledge and understanding of the UK curriculum
  • Has a detailed understanding of assessment for learning strategies and how to use assessment to inform planning for outstanding teaching and learning
  • Is an excellent communicator and confident with technology: someone who gets on well with colleagues, students and parents
  • Is relentlessly focused on giving our students opportunities for success both in and beyond the classroom.
  • Is well-organised, has a good sense of humour and will want to participate fully in the extra-curricular aspects of school life as well as the classroom
