A teacher with a passion for their subject is required to teach Science in this very popular & successful school. All applicants should have high expectations of the learning and achievement of all students and be able to inspire commitment and enthusiasm through creative and interesting lessons across all key stages. The uptake of Sciences at GCSE and all three A Levels is extremely high we are, therefore, seeking science specialists in any of the three disciplines of Biology, Physics or Chemistry. The ability to teach A Level is desirable. Applications are welcomed from NQTs and experienced practitioners.
The successful candidate will be passionate about their subject and have a willingness to be creative and be able to inspire all students to reach their full potential in this important curriculum area.
The department currently has eleven full time and three part-time members of staff.
The school has a proven record of success at GCSE and A Level. In summer 2016 89% of pupils gained A*-C grades in 5 or more subjects with 80% of students gaining A*-C in English and Maths. 34% of GCSE grades awarded were at A*/A and 51% of pupils achieved the English Baccalaureate. At A Level 100% of pupils achieved A*-E with an average grade per candidate of B- with 16% of pupils gaining AAB or higher in facilitating subjects.
