Teacher of Science

Vinney Green Secure Unit opened in February 1995, and accommodates 24 young people of both sexes, aged between 10 and 18. The Unit has been designed to a very high standard and is structured to provide physical containment in an environment which is comfortable and attractive. Vinney Green Secure Unit offers young people a safe and caring environment, where they experience quality care, education, recreational facilities, vocational and life skills training.

Required from 1st September 2019, a suitably qualified and experienced teacher of Science for young people aged 10-17 years. A teaching qualification is essential, although this could encompass either Secondary education, FE, Adult Learning, or upper Primary education with a Science background. Previous experience of working in a secure setting and/or with challenging young people is desirable.

The successful candidate will be a key member of the Education Department and will also be personal tutor to a group of young people, including liaison with Key-Workers, other Care Staff and professionals.
