Teacher of Science

Elmwood School is an expanding Local Authority SEMH school in the leafy suburb of Rushall in Walsall. We are seeking an outstanding teacher of Science to help develop and lead our school into its next phase. The school has 64 mixed 11-16 year olds on roll split into three discreet areas. We offer a wide and personalised curriculum catering for a range of abilities up to and including GCSEs. We are looking for an innovative person who is capable of establishing positive relationships working with young people with complex needs. You must have high expectations, flexibility and resilience. If you are passionate about making a difference and genuinely care for pupils who are on the brink of social exclusion then we would love to meet you.

Due to the departure of our current Science teacher we are looking to appoint an innovative and creative practitioner to lead and develop this core subject area to enable all pupils to achieve outstanding outcomes.

We offer a wide and personalised curriculum including access to a well-resourced outdoor education programme which should inspire the practitioner to embed learning outside of the classroom (LoTC).

The successful candidate will also have the responsibility to develop an engaging Science curriculum for KS3 and 4 pupils, creative thinking will be vital as is the willingness to take risks to look at alternative qualification routes that show progress.
