Job overview
We are looking for a committed and enthusiastic teacher of science to join our very strong department. The department consists of 11 teaching staff and 3 technicians in newly refurbished science labs. Science is hugely popular at KS5 across all three disciplines with nearly 200 taking these at AS/A2 level. The appointed candidate will teach KS3 - KS5 and across all ability ranges.
Ernest Bevin College is an 11-19 boys school with a mixed sixth form of 350 students based in state of the art buildings especially in STEM subjects, and with good transport links.
Our last Ofsted inspection in October 2011 judged the school to be OUTSTANDING. In 2016, 60% of pupils obtained both English and Maths at GCSE, 34% obtained the Ebacc and over a 100 pupils out of a cohort of 150 have gone to University, over 60 in STEM related subjects. We are one of only 4 schools in the country to have been awarded STEM status, the only school in London to have a Combined Cadet Force on site and have opened our Cricket Academy this September.
We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and staff. The position is subject to a DBS check.
The job description, person specification and application form can be found on our website. Visits to the college are welcome.
