Southam College is an oversubscribed 11-18 School set in the heart of Warwickshire close to Coventry, Leamington, Banbury and Leicester. In 2014 we were rated outstanding for the second time by Ofsted. In 2016 we achieved 87% A*-C in English and Maths and are determined to build on this success by continuing to:

The Role

We have modern facilities and a number of excellent technicians, who, with the teachers are passionate about Science. In 2016 we achieved 79% 2 A*-C or equivalent grades at GCSE but are determined to do even better! There will be opportunities to teach Sixth Form as well as Key Stage 3 and 4.

Southam College is a co-educational, non-denominational, comprehensive secondary school based in Southam, Warwickshire, for students aged 11-18. It has been graded "outstanding" in its last two Ofsted reports.   

Southam College is a popular school with approximately 1,600 students on roll, 300 of whom attend the sixth form.

Southam College actively seeks to promote British values within an atmosphere of respect, tolerance and the celebration of difference. Students are encouraged to develop moral skills and an awareness of philosophical questioning.

The secondary school’s Life Skills curriculum focuses on parliamentary democracy, in order to develop an understanding of the freedoms afforded to citizens of a democracy and the consequences of an undemocratic society. 

Students’ appreciation of democracy is further enhanced by the fact that they have the opportunity to be elected to an active student council. They are also taught about democracy during year-group assemblies.

“Teachers plan lessons which are at the right level of difficulty for students and which result in all students making excellent progress. Students receive effective feedback from teachers which helps them to improve their work very well. Students feel safe at the school and they have a strong understanding of safety matters. The headteacher has high expectations of all staff and students. These expectations are shared by all leaders. Consequently, students have appropriately high expectations of themselves.”
