Westleigh High is a co-educational secondary school of around 853 students aged 11-16. Our school is committed to achieving excellence; through sustained action and dynamic improvement, we are well on the way to making this vision a reality. Teaching and learning is at the heart of everything we do, underpinned by a mastery curriculum, strong sense of discipline and high aspirations. Staff are ambitious and united in their desire to play an integral role in Westleigh’s success. For any teachers considering joining our school, there has never been a better time to be on board. The school is experiencing a significant period of change, with an improved learning environment and investment in facilities. Committed to CPD, Westleigh High’s workforce is more skilled than ever before.

Located in Leigh, near Wigan, the area has a proud industrial history and strong working class values. Our ethos is to ‘aspire and achieve together’ which encapsulates the values shared by the school and the community within which it resides. Now designated an area of Greater Manchester and with easy access to Liverpool, Leigh has the advantage of proximity to the vibrant, cultural heritage of both great cities.
