An opportunity has arisen to become part of the aspirational Archbishop Sentamu Academy to spark a passion for learning in our young people which will last a lifetime and raise the expectations of a community. We want you to join us on our journey to ensuring our students achieve the best outcomes possible and develop our students into effective Scientists with enquiring minds who chose to continue with the study of science beyond their school years. We aim to support our students in gaining an awareness of global issues and an understanding of the World around them, by providing them with the appropriate skills so that they can apply their understanding of science and question their experiences.
We are an improving and oversubscribed Academy in Kingston upon Hull. Our results as an Academy have risen for the fourth year running and we have a highly popular and successful sixth form. Our staff engage with a coordinated CPD programme that utilises the latest research to support the ongoing development of our Teaching and Learning and there are many opportunities within the Academy to further your career. We advise you to come in and speak to the Academy Principal or Director of Learning for Science about this role.
We would warmly welcome and encourage applications from newly qualified teachers and experienced teachers alike who may be looking for a leadership opportunity, we just ask that you are as ambitious for yourself as you will be for our students.
The successful candidate will be able to teach all aspects of Science at KS3/KS4 and ideally at KS5. You should be able to use your passion for science, and love of learning, to encourage and enthuse students to achieve their full potential. We currently teach the AQA suite of science GCSEs and welcome applicants who like to collaborate and share good practice. This post would suit someone looking to progress their career in an Academy that is committed to developing its staff for further promotion.
In return we can offer:

○ Excellent state-of-the-art facilities and resources to enable you to teach to your full potential
○ A positive and optimistic working environment that is focused on pupil progress
