Teacher of Languages (secondary)

We are looking for an experienced and inspiring teacher to join our team from August 2018. To deliver our high standard of educational excellence, our teachers are well-qualified, confident, well-organised, have a good sense of humour and participate fully in all aspects of school life within and beyond the classroom. We are now looking for a like-minded colleague to join our Languages Department in the Secondary School in the next exciting phase of its development.

From KS3 through to the IB Diploma Programme we teach French, German and Spanish. We seek candidate with two or more language offers and applicants should specify their experience and expertise in the languages they offer.

The Teacher of Languages is responsible to the Head of Languages and is a key member of the languages team of the school. The Teacher of Languages will demonstrate the highest standards of professionalism and will, in particular:

  • Inspire students to be passionate, curious, exited learners.
  • Embody the school’s mission in word and action;
  • Be passionate about international education;
  • Gain and maintain the trust and confidence of students, colleagues and parents;
  • Contribute to continuity with our Primary School and to the development of curriculum, pedagogy, and teaching across the school;
  • Motivate students and staff to aspire to excellence in all that they do;
  • Contribute to a strong, high-performing team of language teachers;
  • Take responsibility for safeguarding students;
  • Deploy resources with due diligence, with efficiency and effectiveness;
  • Help plan for the continual improvement of the Languages Department.
