We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and dynamic Teacher of Sociology and PSHCE, from September 2017, to deliver high quality lessons at all Key Stages. You will have a confident understanding of the curriculum and the ability to create new and exciting resources that challenge and inspire our students.
Due to high student demand, we introduced GCSE Sociology two years ago. The cohort is expected to achieve 65% A*-C and 14% A*. In 2016, the Philosophy and Society department achieved its best GCSE RS results, with 90% A*-C and the highest proportion of A*s in the school. In the Sixth Form we are introducing Sociology for the first time, and the current Philosophy and Ethics course is well established and increasingly popular.
Last term, we were rated ‘Good’ by Ofsted and praised for the quality of its teaching and its professional development. We are also part of the thriving GLF Multi-Academy Trust. We have academic express streams, a strong house system and enrichment activities. We are proud to say that the school is an exciting, innovative place to work.
We serve our local community and attract students from a wide range of backgrounds. We are conveniently located within easy reach of Sutton and south London, with excellent road networks. Further benefits include a two-week October half-term.
