Job overview

Due to our continuing expansion, we are seeking to appoint, a well-qualified, enthusiastic, and passionate Sociology and Psychology teacher to work in a lively and successful department to teach AQA A Level for both subjects. 

The successful applicant will be a dynamic practitioner who can deliver high-quality learning and who has students’ progress at the forefront of their teaching. They will be able to communicate their passion for the subject through innovative, diverse, and stimulating teaching methods. This is an exciting opportunity to make a positive and significant contribution to our wonderful school. The successful candidate will be fully involved in departmental development, target setting, and evaluation of student progress and will possess the following attributes:

About Chiltern Hills Academy

Chiltern Hills Academy is a Church of England, co-educational secondary school in Chesham, Buckinghamshire. There are circa 1025 students on the school roll, approximately 100 of whom study in the Sixth Form. Chiltern Hills Academy converted to academy status in 2011 and is jointly sponsored by the Diocese of Oxford and Buckinghamshire Council.

We are situated in the market town of Chesham, Buckinghamshire in the Chiltern Hills, designated an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Situated close to the M40 and the M25, Chesham is on the end of Metropolitan line of the London Underground and is 28 miles north-west of London. There is ample parking on-site. Renting here is cheaper than in central London and if you enjoy travelling, it takes about 40 minutes by car to Heathrow.

The Elgiva Theatre, Lowndes Park and an open-air heated swimming pool are just some of the many public amenities available in the town. Chesham is renowned for its community spirit and there are many recreational and community groups catering for the diverse and active population.
