We are one of the top-performing colleges in the country, situated in the cosmopolitan seaside city of Brighton & Hove. Working here offers the combination of both a wonderful place to work and a great city in which to live. Our students and staff are colourful, aspirational and hard-working – which is perhaps why 94% of employees would “recommend BHASVIC as a good place to work” and many of our students go on to Higher Education.
We are seeking to appoint a Teacher of Sociology to join a thriving and successful department. A willingness to teach some Health & Social Care would be an advantage, however experience in this area is certainly not essential. As a college, we are ambitious for our students and seek to appoint staff who can bring the right blend of flexibility, commitment, energy and vision. We welcome applications from teachers at any stage in their career.
Join us and you can expect competitive pay and an excellent pension scheme, family-friendly working and a collaborative culture where ideas take flight together. Our Cycle to Work scheme, free counselling and occupational health service, discounted gym memberships and staff wellbeing events will keep you sharp, whilst our tailored induction programme and investment in your professional development – along with the possibility of funding for additional qualifications and to even take a sabbatical – will ensure an exciting future.
The BHASVIC Corporation has adopted the conditions of service and salary scales applicable to sixth form colleges. The current full-time salary range for qualified teachers is £22,937 - £38,364 per annum (depending upon experience).

BHASVIC is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.
