Due to some temporary staffing changes, we are seeking a part-time teacher who has recent experience of teaching A-level Sociology, ideally following the revised AQA specification. We are looking for a talented and enthusiastic teacher who will support Year 12 students in the first year of their A Level course. This would be a temporary appointment until at least the end of May 2019. You will be working alongside an experienced Sociology teacher who teaches across Year 12 & 13 and supported by the Head of Social Science; the subject is well-resourced and popular with our students. 

For a suitable candidate, between 2 and 3 half-days per week would be available. Early applications before a final closing date are welcome as we are seeking an immediate start. 

We are looking for a teacher who has excellent communication skills with an ability to develop and maintain positive relationships with students, colleagues and parents. We expect the successful candidate to work as part of a team and be willing to participate in all aspects of school life.

King Edward VI School is a popular 11-18 comprehensive school rated Good by OfSTED in 2017 with recognition of outstanding practice and a highly positive ethos. The school is well-regarded within the community and has a reputation for high quality teaching; we are currently expanding to take in an additional form of entry from 2019. Lichfield is a small, vibrant cathedral city which is easily accessible from the surrounding areas.
