Lord Wandsworth College seeks an accomplished and inspirational Teacher of Spanish and French for September 2019. Applications from candidates with French as their main specialism and Spanish as their second language would also be welcome.
Applications are invited from accomplished and inspirational candidates, with an excellent degree in a directly relevant subject. Proven teaching experience up to A Level in either French or Spanish would be a distinct advantage. NQTs are also welcome to apply.
Lord Wandsworth College is an ambitious and forward-thinking independent, HMC co-educational boarding and day school of around 620 pupils, aged 11-18. It enjoys a fine reputation for its very high standards, pastoral care and superb all-round education. This is embodied in our exceptionally wide and high-quality co-curricular programme alongside a passion and drive to be sector leading in Pupil Voice and Character Education. LWC is a popular school, growing significantly - despite the sector challenges – in the past decade. We aim to develop a 'can do, will do' mindset and to nurture and inspire our learners. We believe in them and go the extra mile for them.
The Modern Foreign Languages Department at Lord Wandsworth College is a lively, dynamic environment, where ideas are always welcomed. We are extremely successful, with excellent GCSE and A Level results, and with a healthy number of students currently studying at A Level, despite the national trends in the take-up of languages. We offer a range of extra-curricular events, such as regular film evenings and theatre visits, and our languages prefects are involved in many departmental and whole-school initiatives. We organise a biennial homestay visit to Granada for GCSE and A Level pupils, a biennial homestay visit to Montpellier in France for our GCSE pupils, a U6 work experience week for our A Level French group and a KS3 Spanish trip on a rotation with KS3 French and German trips.
This is a full-time post and the successful applicant will be expected to contribute fully to the co-curricular and pastoral life of the boarding school.
The College offers a competitive salary scale and package.
