Tes are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and inspirational Teacher of Spanish and French on a full-time or part-time basis from September 2020. Both experienced and newly-qualified teachers are encouraged to apply.

This is an exciting opportunity to join an 'Outstanding' and dynamic school that provides exceptionally rich opportunities to challenge students of all abilities including providing options in Year 9 to study Triple Science, Latin, Economics and Psychology and the chance to study two languages from Year 7.  

The school attracts many able students and operates a condensed or accelerated Key Stage 3 programme of study to meet the particular needs and aspirations of all of the students and their families. The school offers a wide variety of academic subjects including 4 or 5 optional courses selected by each child in addition to enrichment activities every day. Last year it ranked as a top band non-selective school for attainment nationally at Key Stage 4 and the top school in the Local Authority for progress at Key Stage 5 with some truly outstanding academic results.

The school has one of the best pupil to teacher ratios of any secondary school in London and average class sizes are approximately 20 across all subjects.

The school are seeking a talented, highly motivated and enthusiastic Teacher of Spanish and French to work closely with other staff in an extremely successful and aspirational faculty.

The Successful Candidate:

  • An understanding of, and commitment to, the aspirational ethos of the school
  • Will be a well qualified, inspirational individual with an impressive track record of raising achievement
  • The ability to teach A Level courses may be an advantage
  • To hold a degree or equivalent qualification in a relevant subject
  • Qualified Teacher status
  • Appropriate and successful experience and/or qualification in the teaching of modern languages
  • To demonstrate the ability to maintain the highest expectations for all pupils
  • Demonstrate the ability to progress pupils’ learning ensuring that students reach appropriate levels of attainment in public examinations
  • Ability to do the job description
  • Appropriate classroom and behaviour management skills
