Job overview

Tes is supporting the appointment of a Teacher of Spanish to join a school based in Brighton and Hove.

If you are teacher of Modern Languages who is keen to share your love of Spanish (and French if possible), this is an exciting opportunity to join a highly successful MFL Department and develop your career in a warm and lively community in the heart of Brighton.

As part of a team who is committed to building a love and enthusiasm for language learning, you will be a Spanish specialist teaching Spanish at KS3 and KS4, with, ideally, the ability to teach French at KS3. The pupils you will teach are committed and determined to achieve the highest standards and this is reflected in their exam results.

Applications are welcomed from recent graduates and experienced teachers (either within the profession or looking to return).

There will also be opportunities to deliver specialist language teaching to Years 5 and 6 in the Prep School.

If you want to play a key role within an expanding department and are passionate about inspiring students to develop a global mindset through languages, they would be delighted to hear from you.

Why join?

The school has embarked on an exciting new chapter and a period of rapid change. A new development is underway, which will reunite the Prep and Senior schools onto one site while creating innovative working spaces within the school’s iconic buildings and enhanced green spaces around the school.

The school already has a significance in the history of girls’ education and a new future-focused vision aims to build on this in unique ways which will see the fusion of the classroom and the community. Drawing on the school’s location in the heart of the city of Brighton & Hove, the school’s identity is as eclectic, enterprising, and creative as the city itself.

They can offer a variety of benefits, which include:

  • Competitive salaries and pay progression
  • Access to extensive professional development opportunities
  • Training grants for qualifications
  • Generous pension schemes
  • Free life assurance benefit
  • A discount of up to 50% on fees for children
  • Interest free loans for training, computer purchase loans and travel season ticket loans
  • A Cycle to Work scheme
  • Competitive terms and conditions of employment

Short-listed candidates will be invited for interview during the week commencing 29th April.
