Job overview

The Academy was one of the founding members of the Fallibroome Trust, a highly regarded and outstanding Multi Academy Trust, based in Cheshire, providing opportunities for development and collaboration across the Trust as well as within the school itself.

Our Academy is an 11-16 mixed comprehensive school, and we currently have 1070 students. Our intake is non-selective and varied. We pride ourselves in our inclusive approach, but we never compromise on high expectations. All of our student’s study Spanish throughout Key Stage 3 and just over a third took the subject to GCSE last year.

In May 2016 the Academy was judged, by Ofsted, to be good for ‘overall effectiveness’ and commended for ‘rapid and sustained improvement’ since incorporation into The Fallibroome Trust in September 2014. Inspectors were impressed with pupils’ behaviour and pride in their school and commended a ‘culture of improving learning’ which meant that pupils made ‘good progress in their subjects’. Teachers were commended for their high expectations and for challenging pupils to achieve high standards and for the quality of care provided for all pupils.

More recently, the Academy has experienced the challenges of the pandemic impacting on our results. However, our ambitions is to pursue a rapid and aspirational curriculum change and the school itself has undergone a period of positive developments and leadership changes.

I became Headteacher in September with the strong support of the new Trust CEO to move the school rapidly forward and re-embed the many strengths observed by OFSTED six years ago. The appointment of a new teacher of Spanish is one of a number I am looking to make to reinforce our team of highly committed staff who put the child at the centre of everything they do. This post represents a great opportunity for an ambitious teacher with a passion for the subject and the enthusiasm to motivate our learners to achieve to the best of their ability.
