Harris Academy South Norwood amalgamated with Harris Academy Upper Norwood in September 2014 to create one academy operating across two sites. The leadership group and teaching staff work across both sites. We have one Governing Body. In the next two years, as the academy continues to grow, we will have over 2,500 students, including 500 in the 6th form.
We are looking for a Teacher of Spanish. Modern Foreign Languages are very popular subjects at Harris Academy South Norwood, particularly at GCSE. Students study two languages at KS3 and this post is ideally for a colleague who is also fluent in French.
We are looking for a teacher who will:
- Deliver consistently good or better teaching in Spanish from Year 7 to 11. It would be advantageous if a candidate could deliver Spanish to Year 12 and 13, and also French to Year 7 to 9.
- Have the rigour in subject knowledge to be able to teach high level GCSE and A-level students in Spanish.
- Ensure we have the highest standards for the quality of teaching, behaviour and pastoral care.
- Be a form tutor to a tutor group.
- Be a literacy ambassador to lead the improvement of reading, writing and oracy across the learning hubs – everyone is a teacher of literacy.
