Part-time Teacher of Spanish required from September 2019

Part time and permanent

Salary: Main Pay Scale + Inner London Weighting

Required from September 2019, a part-time qualified Spanish teacher (1 day per week) to join our school to teach across the ability range from the EYFS to Year 6.

Wandsworth Preparatory School is a small, one form entry independent school for boys and girls aged 4 to 11. We believe that, from an early age, children should enjoy a breadth of opportunity to develop their ability, interests and potential in a nurturing, warm and secure environment. We see ourselves as a family school with unfailing emphasis placed on the happiness of each child. Our approach to teaching and learning, strikes a balance between ensuring firm foundations and creativity, allowing children access to a broad and balanced curriculum.

There is specialist teaching in music, sport and languages throughout the school and English and maths at Key Stage 2. Foundation subjects are taught through an enquiry-led creative curriculum. We are also a Forest School throughout the Key Stages.

An opportunity has arisen for a well-qualified and enthusiastic teacher of Spanish with experience of teaching from the EYFS to Year 6. We are looking to appoint a teacher who adopts an inclusive approach to the teaching and learning of Spanish, understands how young children learn languages and is able to inspire our children to develop both their language skills and encourage a thirst for future learning. Spanish is taught throughout the school with French introduced in Year 2 and taught alongside Spanish to Year 6. The department is well-resourced with technology forming an integral part of teaching and learning.

The successful applicant must be a qualified teacher with up to date knowledge of the national primary curriculum. The post would suit an NQT or an experienced teacher.
