Job overview

TEACHER OF SPANISH

(FULL-TIME / PART-TIME)

Leicester Grammar School is one of the UK's top-performing co-educational HMC independent day schools.

We are looking to appoint an enthusiastic and well qualified teacher of Spanish on a full-time or part-time basis. The successful candidate must be prepared to teach in two different school settings as Spanish is an important subject at both Leicester Grammar School and at LGS Stoneygate. The minimum part-time considered will be 60% taught over four days. The ability to offer a second modern foreign language to at least Key Stage 3 could be an advantage.

The Modern Foreign Languages department works as a well organised and highly effective team of talented linguists whose teaching supports and enables pupils to achieve their full potential. The successful candidate will have an infectious enthusiasm for the value and relevance of modern languages in young people’s lives as our pupils are encouraged to be ambitious in the work they produce and are given the opportunity to develop skills that they can use across the curriculum and beyond.

The successful applicant will contribute fully to the pastoral and co-curricular life of the MFL department and Leicester Grammar School generally.

If you are interested in this opportunity, please visit www.lgs-senior.org.uk/vacancies for an information pack and application form.

A completed application form and curriculum vitae, accompanied by a covering letter addressed to Mr John Watson (Headmaster and Principal of Leicester Grammar School Trust), should reach the school as soon as possible, and no later than 9am on Monday 31 January 2022. Interviews will take place the following week and will be conducted across both schools, which are in close proximity to each other.

Interviews may be held at any stage after applications are received; interested candidates are therefore advised to apply as soon as possible. We reserve the right to close this vacancy earlier than the specified deadline, if a suitable candidate is found. Short-listed candidates will be offered a tour of the schools as part of the interview process.

Applications should be emailed to recruitment@leicestergrammar.org.uk

Leicester Grammar School Trust is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people, and this is reflected in its recruitment procedures. Successful candidates for posts are required to undergo safer recruitment checks which include an enhanced DBS disclosure.
