Woking High SchoolSurrey

MODERN FOREIGN LANGUAGES DEPARTMENT

PART TIME TEACHER OF SPANISH

MPR/UPR

Part Time

Required January to July 2022, Maternity Cover

Woking High School is a high achieving school with Academy status. We have an outstanding team of staff who are all committed to developing our students as individuals. Using a warm and strict approach, our students display excellent behaviour, allowing teachers to develop a knowledge-rich environment. Led by educational research, all students are challenged to achieve their best. The Ofsted inspection of December 2019, which judged the school to be good, noted that, ‘Pupils say that the school feels like a family.  The curriculum is ambitious and well designed, with strong academic and vocational elements’’.

We are seeking to appoint a well-qualified, enthusiastic and imaginative classroom practitioner, to join our excellent Languages Department as a Spanish teacher.

Since September 2020, the MFL Department has embraced a lexico-grammar approach with the use of Extensive Processing Instructions (EPI) in their teaching. We follow the MARS EARS approach and the Department has seen significant improvement in students’ outcome. Although the expertise in this methodology is not required, we would like any potential candidate to embrace and follow our pedagogy.

You are welcome to telephone the school on 01483 716884 for an informal discussion.   Application packs can be downloaded from our website www.wokinghigh.surrey.sch.uk (About Us – Employment Opportunities).

If you are interested in this position, please apply as soon as possible as interviews will be held upon receipt of suitable applications.

Closing date for applications:  Monday 6th December at 10am

Woking High School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. The successful candidate will be required to undertake an enhanced DBS check.

Woking High School is committed to providing all staff with continued professional development to support and develop them in their careers.
