About the opportunity:

We are looking to appoint a highly motivated, innovative and creative Teacher of Spanish. The post offers the opportunity to teach languages across the age and ability range from 11 to 18. The ideal candidate must have a real passion for languages and have the ability to communicate a love of languages to all students. We currently offer French, German and Spanish. The successful candidate should possess strong communication skills and be an effective classroom teacher who can demonstrate the ability to raise achievement of all students. The ability to teach Spanish and German is desirable but not essential, as we are looking for someone with the ability to teach Spanish to GCSE & A level.

Opportunities to develop enrichment activities and to broaden the scope of language provision would be available. 

The faculty is a strong, popular, successful and well led area of the school which benefits from excellent facilities. A popular mix of academic and applied courses are taught at KS4 and KS5, ensuring that all students enjoy languages and make excellent progress.

A comprehensive programme of support and training will be made available to the successful applicant.  Any ECT appointed will be supported with a reduced timetable, a mentor and a strong commitment to his/her professional development.

About The Ridgeway School & Sixth Form College

The Ridgeway School & Sixth Form College has 1560 students, 200 of whom are in the Sixth Form. The Ridgeway School & Sixth Form College is a coeducational secondary school and sixth form with academy status, located in Wroughton.  

The school was established in 1967 and was the first purpose-built comprehensive school in Wiltshire. We offer GCSEs and BTECs as programmes of study for students, while sixth form students have the option of studying a range of A-levels and further BTECs.
