Job overview

Bryanston Prep has an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic, forward-thinking and dedicated practitioner of PE and Games to join the Sports Department. We are proud of our sporting reputation at Bryanston and offer an inclusive approach to sport making use of our fabulous shared facilities.

You will need to be a qualified teacher and have a proven track record of teaching to a high standard, being creative in your approach, and really enjoying working with young children. This post would suit a PE specialist with a particular passion for inspiring a love across sporting disciplines and for participation amongst our school community. The ideal candidate will have experience teaching across our age ranges (Reception to Year 8) and be passionate about the development of all our pupils and delivering a unique and memorable educational experience.

If you are looking for your next professional challenge, Bryanston offers an exceptional working environment, which includes a competitive salary, state-of-the-art facilities and wide-ranging prospects for development; the School is committed to the leadership development of its staff.

We welcome applications from both the independent and state sectors.

For further information and to apply, please visit our website via the Apply button.

Closing date: Sunday, 18 June 2023

Interview date: Thursday, 22 June 2023. Candidates are asked to ensure their availability for the interview date as far as practicable.

Bryanston is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. Applicants will be required to undergo child protection screening appropriate to the post, including checks with past employers and the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS).

The post is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 and the School is therefore permitted to ask job applicants to declare all convictions and cautions (including those which are "spent" unless they are "protected" under the DBS filtering rules) in order to assess their suitability to work with children.

About Bryanston School

Bryanston is an independent boarding and day school for boys and girls aged 3 to 18, set in a beautiful 400-acre site near Blandford Forum in Dorset. It includes Bryanston Prep School, a co-educational day and boarding prep school in the neighbouring village of Durweston.

Founded in 1928, the school aims above all to develop the all-round talents of individual pupils. A broad, flexible academic and extra-curricular programme is offered and each pupil benefits from considerable one-to-one help and guidance from a personal tutor, subject teachers and housemaster/housemistress. Bryanston aims to combine the best of the new and the old, as befits the school motto et nova et vetera.
