Teacher of Sport

MPS + SEN 1 £2149

Start date: September 2019

Full time with part time available for the right candidate

Closing date Tuesday 25 June

We seek to appoint an ambitious, enthusiastic and highly motivated teacher to join a school that is undergoing rapid change. Marshfields School is a successful 11-18 Special School for students with complex learning difficulties.  Small classes mean that our teachers get to know the needs of all individuals in their care and plan the curriculum accordingly. Our students are well motivated and eager to learn with excellent levels of attendance.

From September 2019 we expect to be designated as a hub school for Peterborough, providing short-term school placements, CPD and expertise in Moderate Learning Difficulties provision across the city. We also intend to welcome our first primary-aged students at this point. A new build is due to break ground at the same time, and this will ensure we are able to continue to grow our offer to meet the needs of local students.

This position is flexible and would suit a primary trained teacher, a secondary sport teacher or a specialist SEND teacher.

The successful candidate will have a passion for education and will have the skills and abilities to engage and enthuse different types of learners. You will work productively as part of a team and be well supported in making the career transition to Special Education if you have previously been in mainstream.

The successful candidate will be:

• Committed to the inclusion of students with special educational needs;

• A highly motivated and effective classroom practitioner;

• Creative and innovative, with excellent communication and inter-personal skills;

• A teacher who is able to motivate, lead, support and challenge students to be successful.

Applications are welcome from NQTs as well as experienced teachers. We have a proven track record of support and development for all colleagues.

We warmly welcome visits to the School.  To arrange a visit please contact the Headteacher: judemacdonald@marshfields-sch.co.uk.

Marshfields School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff to share this commitment.  The successful candidate will be required to take and enhanced disclosure via the DBS which meets the requirements of the school and evidence of the right to work in the UK.

Please send a completed application form and a supporting letter of application to judemacdonald@marshfields-sch.co.uk by Tuesday 25 June at 4pm.  Interviews will take place on Friday 28 June.
