John Whitgift Academy have an exciting opportunity for a Teacher of Technology to join our team in September 2021 on a full time, permanent basis. You will teach general resistant materials at KS3 and then at KS4 we are open to any technology specialisms (ie engineering and food tech etc).  Why not have a discussion with us about your specialism! 

We are looking for an outstanding, committed and motivated qualified teacher to contribute to the development of teaching and learning and curriculum. This is an ideal opportunity for a classroom practitioner who can display a real passion for developing and inspiring the pupils in their care.

John Whitgift Academy is the highest performing academy in North East Lincolnshire and is in the top 4% of most improved academies in the country. Its student population is rapidly growing with numbers leaving in 2019 compared to those joining, increasing by 200%.  Behaviour is good with a relentless focus upon learning, aspiration and in establishing quality effective relationships between students, staff and the local community. Outcomes in 2018 were above national average in all main categories and the academy is very fortunate to have exceptional facilities, such as swimming pools, an engineering base and a 220 seat private cinema.

The latest Ofsted report (March 2020) gave the academy Good in all categories and Good overall.

John Whitgift Academy is a rapidly expanding academy which is heading towards outstanding. Our student numbers are increasing year by year and we are the highest performing academy in North East Lincolnshire and are in the top 4% of the most improved academies in the country. As an academy we are continually building on our strengths and are proud to have the highest of expectations.

Our academy

We currently have over 900 students on role aged 11 – 16. Our academy is situated close to the A180 making it ideal for commuting. Despite being one of the most rapidly growing academies in North East Lincolnshire, due, primarily to our success and outcomes over recent years, relationships between students and staff are excellent and we have maintained a small school friendly atmosphere. Behaviour in our academy is very good with a relentless focus upon learning and aspiration.

In addition, we are fortunate to have some outstanding facilities that help to further enhance the quality of teaching and learning, such as, an Engineering block, 2 full size swimming pools and a 207-seater cinema.
