The successful candidate will possess outstanding teaching and leadership skills and will be expected to support the senior leadership team in developing the department towards greater success. They will be inspiring and able to motivate and challenge students to make rapid progress. They will have an acute understanding of curriculum developments and thus the drive and enthusiasm in supporting the development of a curriculum fit for purpose.
All pupils have three lessons of technology per fortnight at Key Stage 3 in either Food, Textiles, Resistant Materials or Graphics. Pupils can then opt to continue Design & Technology (Food Technology, Graphics Design, Product Design) at GCSE. Design and Technology allows students to think creatively and become problem solvers as part of a team or individually. They learn to combine various materials utilising a number of practical skills. At Key Stage 5 pupils can study A-Level Product Design (AQA)
