We are looking to appoint a dynamic, enthusiastic and creative Teacher of Textiles to be part of this popular and successful area of the curriculum. We are looking for an individual to drive Textiles forwards to further success. Textiles is a popular subject at Bungay High and the successful candidate will be expected to make a positive contribution to the team ethos of the faculty. Teaching Textiles will be the primary subject for this appointment but experience in a secondary technology or art subject will be advantageous.

Bungay High School Academy is a thriving and successful school situated in a pleasant rural area. We are 20 miles from Norwich and 15 miles from the delightful heritage coast. We have fantastic students, great staff and a commitment to success for all. We have an excellent CPD programme and are committed to staff development.

An application form and further details are available from Mrs R Blake, Headteacher’s PA: 01986 891642 or email rblake@bungayhigh.co.uk or alternatively on our website www.bungayhigh.co.uk, where the application form and other information can be downloaded.

Closing date for applications is Monday 29th April at midday. Candidates are welcome to call and speak to the Head of Faculty to discuss the role and view the facilities. Please use the contact details above to make arrangements. Please address your covering letter of interest to Mrs Chanel Oswick, Headteacher.

We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and we expect all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. A DBS check will be required for this post.

Our values, which underpin every decision we take and the systems we use, are demonstrated in The Bungay Way, underpinned by our character virtues of RESPECT, RESILIENCE, REFLECTIVENESS and RESPONSIBIITY. We have a comprehensive student character-building programme, through which we are working towards the nationally recognised Character Quality Mark.

EAST was established on 1 September 2019. At its inception, three secondary academies were formally partnered together: Bungay, Farlingaye and Kesgrave High Schools. In 2021, EAST opened a special school in Bungay for children with interaction and communication needs, Castle EAST School. On 1 November 2023, Avocet Academy Trust’s five primary schools, Aldeburgh, Easton, Leiston, Saxmundham and Wickham Market, joined EAST to build the foundations of an excellent ‘all-phase Trust’. Our accredited provider, EAST SCITT, offers secondary and primary school-based initial teacher training, awarding Qualified Teacher Status (QTS). We see EAST SCITT as the most effective way to find and develop future teachers to work in this vibrant county. Together, we are confident that our Trust provides an exciting and forward-thinking environment for staff and students alike.

We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and we expect all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. We are an equal opportunities employer welcoming applications from all sections of the community. The post is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 and a comprehensive screening process will be undertaken on successful applicants including an enhanced disclosure check.
