BOA Creative, Digital and Performing Arts Academy is a 14 to 19 academy specialising in the arts pathways.  The Academy opened in September 2011 and has over 1050 students. Admission is 100% selective based on students’ aptitude in their chosen pathway. As such, we are unique in our admissions. 

Located in the centre of Birmingham and within the hub of the creative and digital industries in the West Midlands, we benefit from superb facilities for academic, vocational and extra-curricular activities.  We are part of the BOA Group, a small multi-academy trust which includes other subsidiaries including the Old Rep Theatre.

We are seeking to appoint a well-qualified, confident and enthusiastic teacher to plan, prepare and deliver lessons in Art & Design, in accordance with the A’ Level, GCSE and BTEC specifications at Level 2 and Level 3.  This role is suitable for an ECT or an experienced teacher.  A full induction package and CPD opportunities are offered to help develop your teaching practice.

At BOA, all students are selected through aptitude in their chosen arts specialism and will follow either a Creative, Digital or Performing Arts pathway.  Post-16 Visual Art & Design students study towards a BTEC Level 3 Extended Diploma in Art & Design.  At Key Stage 4, students work towards a BTEC Level 2 Tech Award in Art & Design Practice. We also offer GCSE Art & Design and A’ Level Fine Art as option subjects.

• Qualified teacher status and a degree

• The ability to work in collaboration with other members of staff to develop and manage projects

• The ability to guide students’ academic, personal and professional development, as a tutor, in accordance with the Academy’s guidelines and procedures

• An understanding of the key national and educational policies and issues

• The ability to inspire high achievement in young people from all backgrounds

• Presence, dynamism, a good sense of humour and approachability

• An excellent record of attendance and punctuality
