Position Information 

Bankstown Girls High School is a comprehensive secondary school established in 1960, located in Sydney's Southwest. The student population of 520 girls is drawn from diverse cultural, religious and socio-economic backgrounds. While 98% of students have a non-English speaking background, 30% require some level of EAL/D (English an additional language or dialect) support. Students participate in a wide range of learning experiences focusing on design thinking and inquiry-based learning in the pursuit of academic improvement and excellence.

The school flourishes under the support of its culturally and linguistically diverse community. We have also fostered strong partnerships with local primary schools, universities, cultural institutions, businesses and community groups. Students represent the school across the metropolitan area in music and a wide range of sporting activities, with regional representation.

  
Specific Selection Criteria 
  1. Approved to teach Personal Development Health and Physical Education (PDHPE) and Community and Family Studies (CFS)
  2. Approval and/or willing to teach SLR Sport, Lifestyle and Rec/Phy Act and Sport as well Exploring Early Childhood/Child St.
  3. Ability to use effective classroom management skills and wellbeing practices to create classrooms and outdoor environments that are dynamic, engaging, inclusive and foster a culture of high expectations.
  4. Demonstrated ability to collegially develop and deliver innovative and differentiated teaching and learning programs and assessment to engage students from a diverse range of backgrounds.
  5. Proven highly developed interpersonal and communication skills with the capacity to work as part of a team and a willingness to contribute to whole school and extracurricular programs.
  
Conditions 

An unconditional full approval to teach is a requirement. If you do not hold a full approval to teach with the NSW Department of Education, you are required to commence the application process at the same time as you apply for this teaching opportunity.
