Teaching ServiceSefton High School (enrolment 1068 including 95% from Non-English-speaking background) is a co-educational, academically selective school with a parallel community stream intake. The school is characterised by a focus of high expectations of all students and staff and quality teaching and learning in a highly structured and disciplined learning environment which has the support of parents. This results in excellent standards of attendance, academic achievement, conduct and personal development. Students and staff also engage enthusiastically in a wide range of co-curricular activities. 1. Approval to teach Personal Development, Health and Physical Education, Community and Family Studies and Sport, Lifestyle, Recreation and Physical Activity
2. Demonstrated ability to differentiate teaching and learning to meet the diverse needs of students in PDHPE, including Dance programmes.
3. Proven capacity to use effective classroom management skills and wellbeing practices to create learning environments that are dynamic, engaging, inclusive and foster a culture of high expectations.
4. Highly developed communication and interpersonal skills with a demonstrated capacity to work as part of a team to build positive relationships with students, staff and parents for improved student outcomes.
An unconditional full approval to teach is a requirement. If you do not hold a full approval to teach with the NSW Department of Education, you are required to commence the application process at the same time as you apply for this teaching opportunity.
