Job overview
Operated by Digital Advantage, DISC is the Digital Independent Specialist College, a new and unique opportunity to help young people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) to move towards working in the creative and digital economy. Based in the city centre of Manchester, DISC is a creative and digital studio providing supported work-based learning to help talented young people fulfil their potential and their dreams.
DISC is for young people with SEND aged 16-24 who love creative and digital work and who would thrive in a professional, work-based learning environment, who love learning by doing and making and who want to develop their core skills to help them into the workplace.
We are a professional and agile organisation seeking committed staff members who share our goal to improve the life chances of young people with SEND.
We are seeking a Teacher/Tutor to join our small and dedicated team and lead delivery for a small group of 8 students.
The ideal candidate will be a qualified teacher with experience of SEND (professional or lived) and share our passion for an innovative and customised approach to education. They will be agile and able to adapt their working style to fit a small and fast paced organisation, open to new ideas and to share theirs for the overall progress of our young people. Whilst strong digital skills are a bonus, they are not a pre-requisite for this role. We are open to applicants from subject backgrounds and educational settings.
If this sounds like you, then please see the full job description and person specification attached and we look forward to hearing from you.
