Job overview

We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and dedicated full-time class teacher to work within a P3/4 class at Kirkcowan Primary School up until
28 June 2019.

The successful candidate will provide effective learning and teaching and should demonstrate a commitment to creating a quality learning environment. They will carry out related activities and developments following local, national and school policies under the direction of the Headteacher.

Kirkcowan and Wigtown Primary Schools are rural Partnership Schools. Kirkcowan Primary has a current roll of 51 which is made up of 3 classes. In addition, there is a nursery class.

Applicants for teaching posts must be registered with the General Teaching Council for Scotland, Clerwood House, 96 Clermiston Road, Edinburgh, EH12 6UT in the appropriate sector.

This post is considered as Regulated Work with Vulnerable Children and/or Protected Adults, under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. From 28 February 2011, preferred candidates will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG scheme update check prior to formal offer of employment being made by Dumfries and Galloway Council.
