Teacher Primary Temporary

We are seeking to appoint two enthusiastic and committed Teachers to work within Gretna Primary School. The posts are 0.5FTE from Aug until Christmas holidays 2017 and 0.28 FTE for up to one year funded by Pupil Equity Funding to put interventions in place for individuals and groups to close the attainment gap.

We are very proud of our relationship with the local community and ensure our children are actively involved in planning their own learning experiences, using the local area and resources as much as possible.

The school is well located with easy access to main roads and public transport links and contains excellent facilities and staff members are friendly and welcoming. We have an experienced senior management team in place that is extremely supportive of all staff.

The school requires a passionate teachers with high expectations. Excellent communication, organisational and interpersonal skills and the potential to lead, motivate and inspire others. The ability to work effectively with the Head teacher and the staff team to achieve excellence.

You will provide effective learning and teaching and carry out related activities and developments following local, national and school policies under the direction of the Head Teacher.

This post is considered as Regulated Work with Vulnerable Children and/or Protected Adults, under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. From 28 February 2011, preferred candidates will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG scheme update check prior to formal offer of employment being made by Dumfries and Galloway Council.

Applicants who have been resident outside the UK within the last 5 years, if offered a position, in addition to a Disclosure Scotland Check, will be required to provide a completed police record check from the police authority in the country or countries in which they were resident.
