Job description
We are looking for a qualified teacher to lead the education in our three small independent schools within our therapeutic homes. These schools support the young people who come to live in our residential homes. Children come into care with varying degrees of attainment. The schools use the ASDAN curriculum to help the young people become engaged in education again.
Responsibilities include:
· School Lead for three EBD schools in Ilford, Canvey Island and Clacton on Sea
· Leading the development of the school curriculum
· Direct reporting of teaching staff
· Assessing lesson plans and current teaching methods
· Identifying shortcomings in lessons or teaching methods
· Ensure schools meet the DofE needs of independent school
Job brief
Our schools are looking for an experienced and passionate Lead Teacher to join our team. The Lead Teacher will be an influential member within the school, they will have a deep understanding of how to teach students effectively and know how to inspire others with this knowledge.
A Lead Teacher’s responsibilities include collaborating with a team of teachers, and administrators who share your love of education as they help us provide our students with the best learning experience possible.
Ultimately, you will be an excellent leader who helps other teachers improve teaching skills and educational processes.
Responsibilities
· Evaluate student progress
· Plan curriculum with varying developmental needs
· Track academic performance
· Guide and mentor other members of the teaching staff
· Meet with managers and psychotherapist to discuss the needs and goals of students
Requirements and skills
· Proven work experience as a Lead Teacher or similar role
· Experience in teaching and planning lessons
· Excellent leadership and communication skills
· Ability to provide colleagues and friends with honest, constructive criticism
· Collaborative and creative mindset, with an affinity for problem-solving
· Strong passion for the development and education of youth
· Access to a car
Job Type: Full-time
Salary: £40,000.00-£45,000.00 per year
Schedule:
- 8 hour shift
- Monday to Friday
Ability to commute/relocate:
- London, Greater London: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (preferred)
Education:
- Bachelor's (preferred)
Experience:
- Teaching: 1 year (preferred)
Licence/Certification:
- QTS (preferred)
